2002 mitsubishi galant

My 2002 mitsubishi galant will crank but won't move. It revs
up like it's in park or nuetral. But when I shift it don't
anything. Any suggestions on what it could be or if you
have had this problem before what did you do???

I'll have to check the linkage but I change the selector and nothing changed. But what happened was I was driving and ran over a bump in the road. Then all of sudden my car won't move just revs up. It's been like this for a month now and have no idea. I'm not a mechanic by any means
