Metal shavings in radiator???

Metal shavings in radiator. temp guage goes up and down when it wants. remains at around 180
degrees carx doesnt know whats wrong with it said maybe water pump. but that maybe is $550.00
that i dont want to waste

You probably would be better off going to a Mitsubishi dealership and having a certified mechanic check this out. They would be best able to pinpoint the problem and offer possible solutions. The sooner the better too, so the problem doesn't get worse.
