AC troubleshooting

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I've got a 2002 lancer, and the ac isnt working. I
replaced the compressor and the shrader valves. I
had it vacuumed and once we started to recharge
it, compressor would kick on for roughly 45 sec,
then it would act like the engine was gonna die.
After that it would turn the compressor off and idle
normal, it would be a repeating process
afterwards, compressor will kick on and after 45
sec, it acts like it's going to die again. Any ideas?
maybe something clogged? I just don't know where
to go from here. Thank you for the help.

Could the restriction possiblt be in the expansion valve? Or condenser?
I don't believe it has a low side pressure sensor, there is one on the high but do not see one on the low side.
So the one pressure switch controls/measures both hi and low pressure?
Cool, so maybe I try to bypass that and see what it does?
Did you get all the refrigerant in? If no put the rest in even if you have to heat your source tank up to build up pressure and force refrigerant in, then let the engine run to relearn the a/c load watch pressures but don't worry the belt will slip if something is plugged to locate a restriction in A/C system look and feel for frost or ice hope this helps
So I tried it and I noticed that the hi pressure line will be cold and within 20 sec it gets very very hot is that normal? And I found a leak in the low pressure line, the one that comes off the compressor and goes into the condenser.
Correct* the leak I found it in the hi pressure line not low pressure
Okay, I'm going to replace this leaking ac line and see if I can find a replacement for that pressure sensor. Thank you for the help, I'll let you know what happens after I replace these.
