01 Mitsubishi Montero Limited not starting

The car will crank but it won't fire up and acts
like it's out of gas could it be the anti-theft
system and how would I reset that

I have been racking my brain on this and I'm wondering if there is a fuse or relay that could be causing the fuel pump not to work .I don't even know how to go about troubleshooting to see if it is the fuel pump ..it's stuck a whole state away and I'm trying to figure out how to fix it to get it home

we had the same problem and changed the fuel pump and it didn't help. Did you try something else that could help us with why this happened.

I'm sorry I didn't see this until now I don't get notifications from this I found this in my email .what was wrong was there's a gizmo that hooks onto the fuel pump like a filter type thing it was totally clogged and the gas could not flow through it .we bought a new fuel pump for nothing. but when we tested it in water it was the contraption that you put the fuel pump in that was clogged. Sorry I don't know all the technical terms for these items

The clogged fuel pump housing was what was wrong cleaning it out fixed the problem.
