Question type: Maintenance & Repair

MY daughter hit a parking block in west va. and it was making noise after that. she
drove 1000 miles and made it here. she went to start it next day and it started but
when backed up made a loud noise and cut off and never started again. they pushed it
to anthor spot and all the water started draining out of the raditor. when they tried to
jump it the battery cables got so hot they melted but never started. she has never had
timing belt changed and there is over200 thousand on it.

Intertia switch needs checking to see if it triggered. Need to crawl under the vehicle to see where the radiator is leaking from. And lastly, were the batteries hooked up properly when trying to jump? If they were hooked up wrong, like in Series, you were trying to put 24 volts in that car. I'm hoping the electronics have a guard against that, so instead the cables just melted.
