Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an Eclipse 2000 GT (V6) build in December 99 and it needs a new distributor.

I found a couple in ebay, but there's a little thing Im concerned about. Some said:

Thru 4/2/00 or From 4/3/00

I understand this mean the building date, so my car would be Thru 4/2/00.

The distributor my car have says in the label TOT57871 and the cap have the wires plugs horizontally (on the sides). http://www.ebay.com/itm/WAI-World-Power-Systems-DST49602-New-Distributor-/270936758358?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2000%7CMake%3AMitsubishi%7CModel%3AEclipse%7CSubmodel%3AGT&vxp=mtr&hash=item3f1516d856

The one I found in ebay says on the label TOT57671 and the cap have the wires plugs vertically (On the front). http://www.ebay.com/itm/300693611237?item=300693611237&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:X:AAQ:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr

But both items in ebay said it will fit my car. The biggest difference is the price (130dlls less) and the bulding date.

My questions are:

If I purchase the distributor with vertical plugs, will it work in my car if I exchange caps?

Is that the difference between Thru 4/2/00 or From 4/3/00? the caps?

Thanks in advance

I believe you will be safe as long as a pro is saying its compatable just go for it

Just ordered the same part from an ebay seller only to find that the part or housing bolt pattern is different. Mine eclipse was manufactured in sept. Of '99. They listed part as compatible but is not.
