can I boost a 2000 eclipse gt stock motor

Asked by Southbound24 Feb 08, 2016 at 10:21 PM about the 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT

Question type: Car Customization

I was recently told I could not or there was
not a point in boosting my stock 2000
mitsubishi eclipse gt because it's a v6 and is
already a high compression motor and that
if I did boost it I would blow the head gasket
or I could buy low compression pistons and
boost it but wouldn't feel that much in
power...any advice on wether that's true or
not and how I could go about doing it and
the best possible way?

Thanks so my next question is what can i put on my 2000 mitsubishi eclipse for power as far as headers exhaust and a chip or ecu flash goes? Other than those parts are there any other parts i can put on it to add more power? And if i were to buy a chip for my car what would be the best brand for the eclipse?
