besides what bob mentioned make sure your car is in park and that the steering wheel isn't putting pressure on the key, just try to turn the wheel as you turn the key but yes the battery being low can prevent the key from turning

charge that bad boy up....look at the date code because perfomance will degrade approximately ten percent per year~
A dead battery will not prevent the key from turning in the ignition fellas
david it can on some cars my olds bravada wont turn without battery power I know ive went through it
OK, didn't know that. Just never experienced it, hence the ignorance. I learn as much as I explain stuff 'round here Daniel. Thanks.

Some worn out GM cars can be started with a simple large blade screwdriver!
on some models of cars/trucks bad transmission shift interlock switch will prevent a key from turning (another problem ive encountered on the bravada) don't know if yours has one but that's one cause of a key not turning
I own a 2006 Galant. Yesterday I experienced what I thought to be a dead battery issue. I replaced the cars battery and the car STILL would not turn over. I noticed my car key battery was almost dead, here is a picture of the key here. https://ikeyless.com/vehicles/mitsubishi/galant/2006/1000707, this key takes a CR1620 battery and runs about 5.00-6.00 depending on where u get it from. Amazon is cheaper Each key has a microchip in it that if its no programmed right u can listen to the radio, operate the dials but not turn the car over. What u may think could be a car battery, starter or alternator issue, a 100-400 or more fix could simple be a 5.00-6.00 fix. If having issues turning over your Galant, change your key battery, it could be cheaper on the long run.
