Yes the 2.4 and 3.0 both are interference engines. Sorry to say but you most likely have bent valves.
That being said have heard of them breaking and not bending any valves but that is very unlikely. Most times it bends a few of them.
Now you can take the valve covers off and rotate the overhead cams to there neutral position( both intake and exhaust valves closed at same time) remove all the spark plugs and do a compression check on each cylinder. If your psi is 142.5 psi to 190 psi (9.5:1 compression ratio engine). 150 psi to 200 psi (10:1 compression ratio engine). Your valves are good. Any cylinders showing 0 psi have bent valves.
At the bouncing shaft belt broke but not the timing belt from the time about will that bend the valves
Of the belt breaks and the car is justing up and not moving will that bend valves?
My 07 galant started up and when i tried to drive away it stopped . timing belt broke . if it wasnt moving when the belt broke will the valves still bend
