2010 Pontiac G6 overheats at idle

Asked by Guru1YMNT Jul 04, 2021 at 12:04 AM about the 2010 Pontiac G6 GT Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2010 Pontiac G6 GT overheats at idle, normal temp driving at traffic speeds.
Water pump, thermostat, cooling fans, radiator have all been changed but it is
still overheating at idle, why? The mechanics are scratching their heads.
PLEASE HELP. This happens intermittently. It may go a day or two normally
then the next day overheat.

This is an airflow problem. My first suspect would be the radiator cooling fans are not working properly. They're probably working sometimes but not other times. Hope that helps! Jim
