Putting a DOHC 3.0L in a base 98 3000GT, is there any required computer changes? Or would it be better to put a older base motor in since they were DOHC prior to 97?

Question type: Car Customization

I have a base 1998 3000GT. Motor needs a rebuild but it seems it be cheaper to buy a
new motor. If buying a new one Id like to upgrade to the SL DOHC 3.0 since in 98 the
base went from the DOHC to a SOHC. If I swapped a 98 for a 98 motor would there be
computer problems since the SL had diff options?, or would it be better to swap with a
older, prior to 97, base motor since they were the same motor in a SL and a base back
then?
