how do i recondition 1997 Ford starter

I am looking to recondition myself a starter for a 1997 Ford Expedition 5.4 XLT
4 door 4 x 4

You would want new bearings, brushes and more all depending on what is wrong with it. If the armature is damaged then it is scrap. Why bother?

Not really worth rebuilding it urself. U'll need new bushings, brushes, solenoid and bendix. By the time u buy all these items, it'll be more expensive than buying a new one with life time warranty but it can be done
