what exactly does the performance switch do to make the car perform better on the auto transmission

Most automatic transmissions shift at 2000 rpm under normal driving conditions. Performance mode changes the shift points, so in performance mode under normal driving conditions it may shift at 3000-3500 rpm instead of 2000 rpm. Then when you are really standing on it it would shift at or beyond red line instead of almost red line.

all it does is change the rpm range before the car shifts into the next gear and down shifts sooner thats it no horse power
