Which side do pistons go on

I have never rebuilt a Mitsubishi car and the pistons are labeled left and right.
However, the block goes in sideways. So left piston and right piston from
what perspective?

Think of the passenger side of the engine as the front of the engine. Left and right are from the seated in the driver's seat perspective. I would recommend getting a manual such as Chilton's or similar for important information such as torque specs. etc.

there's no arrow or anything that would be pointing to the front of the engine where the pullys are ?
While seated in the driver's seat the left side of the car is to you left and right side is to your right. The left and right sides are never determined while standing in front of your vehicle looking at it. Imagine you sitting in the driver's seat and you engine mounted in it like it was a rear wheel drive. That is how you determine left and right. Since your engine is transverse mounted (sideways) it would be necessary to imagine that it is twisted around so the the passenger's side of you engine is facing forward. Or to put it differently the front of the engine would be where the pulleys and water pump reside. The left side of the engine would be the cylinders facing the front of the vehicle and the right side would be the cylinders facing the rear of the vehicle. At least that is the way I interpret this piston issue. Also I am not responsible if you install them incorrectly.
