Need help with Headlight switch

Asked by Donna May 02, 2014 at 05:23 PM about the 1994 Mazda B-Series B3000 Extended Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We have a 94 Mazda B 3000 Pickup that we are having an issue with the headlights as well as tail lights. When the headlights are on, no interior or tail lights will work. We can get tail lights and interior lights by fiddling with the headlight switch (which we have replaced twice) but cannot get headlights and tail lights to work at the same time.  No
directional lights work. Fuses appear to be fine. Please help

It sounds as if your headlights are missing a ground somewhere and so they're trying to find it from the easiest place in the circuit... the other smaller lights. Try running a separate chassis ground to the headlamp connectors and see what happens.

BTW: Be sure to locate the headlamp ground at the connector (back of the headlamps) before trying this.
