Why don't my 1997 Ford explorer start with
out chip in key wat makes suv not start

The chip in key is programmed to the computer in the SUV,it is done for antitheft ,meaning i cant copy your key and steal your car,without having it programmed with code which is in key.

I had a 95cobra mustang that had the same problem. Like T S T. Said its for anti theft.
