I just bought my first turner and it is a 1996 Mitsubishi mirage s sedan it currently has a 4g15 t25t and looking for a performance motor

It's a 7 bolt as far as I know its a 1.5 and series is L4 or I4

Should be an L4 since it is front wheel drive car, I4 stands for inline 4 and is used in rear wheel drive cars.

Transverse is cylinders are east-west, or 'sideways' with belt(s) on side, Longitudal the cylinders are from to back

Get a 2.0 liter from a 1990 to 1994 Eclipse, Talon or Laser, it would take a bit of fabrication but you should be able to get it installed, you might want the trans axle as well..there might be a bit of electrical work (for the engine computer harness)..but 'tis' doable..if you want to spend a few bucks.
