"key not detected"

Everyone once in a while, the Key not detected warning shows up on the panel  
and the key has not left it original position in the cupholder.  It does not
happen very often, and it is a false report, because the key works.  Has anyone
else seen this bug?

It happens with other makes of cars too, the most common solution is to clear the key chain of any interfering artifacts, and keep the cup holder clear of anything but the key.
