I have a 1994 Mitsubishi 3000 gt 5speed and was told the ecm and starter are bad but could be a ground wire. How do I check this and how do I replace ecm?

I bought a 1994 Mitsubishi 3000 gt 5 speed that doesnt run.  Was told it needs ecm and
starter or could be a ground wire problem.  How do I check to see if it's ecm and how
would I replace it?

Ok start with explaining exactly what it's doing. Crank over but no start? Or no crank over at all? These cars are very funny about their grounds wires. I would start with cleaning and tightening the negative battery cable on the frame and motor.
