You would think so. They can't answer. They keep telling me that they will check with other departments and let me know. So far, nothing.
It cannot. I went through the same dam thing as you did except it went from the dealer, to supposedly the regional engineers, and finally the corporate HQ, where the woman helping me was dumber than a bag of hammers. Genesis has a problem. They do not keep the parts they need in stock, tying up your car for a week, and if you are fortunate you are doing business with a dealership that offers the concierge service and loaner car. Others have not, and I read them they were in default of the corporate agreement between the buyer and the corporation. Now did they want to go back to selling Isuzu's or get their act together. Part of this is Genesis fault. 1) They have not given the mechanics enough orientation about the different cars with either an onsite training seminar or one held in town the dealer is located, and 2) Genesis has a big head demanding their dealers build special showrooms for their cars or they are not "officially" recognized as a Genesis dealer. I should have had someone with me when I made my deal, because I had just gotten out of the hospital with a Traumatic Brain injury 6 weeks before, and they could have shown me a goat and I would have bought it. They did not offer me anything for Lexus 2006, LS- 430, I was sold a "executive car" with 3117 mi on it, but they said it was rolled back to zero miles for the purpose of a full new car warranty. My car is in 100% top gun shape because I used every bit of my warranty having the mechanics at a "certified Genesis" dealership go over it from bumper to bumper, and the only thing they found was the potential my window washer might freeze up or stop on me, so they went ahead and took the precautionary action of replacing the motor, the fuse, the wires just to make sure they would not have a problem in the future. I say they went the extra mile by doing that but they also had an experienced Genesis technician leaning over their shoulder to make sure they knew what they were doing. So I was pretty happy for having an experienced captain in the cockpit while all of this was going on.Genesis needs to keep their shops with at least one spare part for each model and year car that could come in with a problem, but I guess they are so self assured that nothing will be found wrong with their car, Genesis does not do this. I was really pissed when I found my windshield wiper motor was being replaced with a Hyundai part. There are so many Hyundai dealerships where I live you can't swing a dead cat without it hitting one. Genesis needs to come down on their prices by about 15% until they have something to crow about. Mercedes and Lexus did not come on the road with outrageous MSRPs when they first began. It took them 15 years and they are still striving to improve. Genesis just has a big head and they need to let some of the air out of it.
