Question type: General

Hi there, I have a new 2019 honda Pilot and are being told 3 months after buying it that the apple carplay doesn't work because of the 'in vehicle' wifi option that must be paid for.
and just plugging in your phone like any other vehicle with carplay (and shown on the honda pilot carplay video) will not work with the 2019 honda pilot. is this true? are there any honda pilots out there that have no problems with Carplay.

but I don't want to pay for another plan. I already have one on my phone. When I plug in my phone with lightening cable is simply doesn't work...says 'no internet connection'. do I need to have hotspot on my phone switched on? I tried on a friends car with apple carplay and all I had to do was was plug it in ….simple..worked. ive had it in to honda 8 times and nothing. they are say that plugging it in with cable doesn't work on the 2019 Pilot or Odyssey because of the built in WIFI option. This has to be wrong.
