2019 Sentra Radio issue or battery.

Asked by GuruF11S1 Apr 26, 2020 at 02:00 PM about the 2019 Nissan Sentra SV FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I see I am not the only customer of Nissan that is
having big issues with my 2019 Sentra. From the
day I left the dealer. When I was going to leave I
went to back up and the back up camera went all
black. So I stopped and went and got the car sales
men he said to bring it back the next week. So I did
and they reset it. Not a mother issue with the
backup camera. So about 2 months into having the
car I started having issues with radio in the car. It
would just not work period. It would say the radio
station but nothing would play. So I bring it it and
they reset that. I actually have Video of that issue
happen. But the new radio issue is that I have a
push to start car. I’ll just get into my car and sit
there for a sec and the radio will go on and go off
like it is malfunctioning. This issue has been going
on for over 3 months now. I know I sound crazy but
it’s happening. So with that being said I called my
car sales man and told him about what’s going on
he told me to call service and I did. The service was
very nice and simply told me Nissan knows about it
and at this time there is no recall phone call took
place on 4/24/2020 so with that being said I have
had a dead car battery for the past 3 days and now
on my only day off I have to go in and have them
now check the battery because it keeps dying. I
need this issue to be addressed.

Mee too my dealership said to catch it on a recording in order for them to fix it . Every time I try I can’t get my camera up fast enough before it cuts off again.

I will shut off my car and sometimes the radio comes back on when I’m not even in the car and the car is off!

Hey guys, I’m a technician and I heard this through a coworker, just tried it and it actually worked! Take the volume knob off of the radio, spray some wd40 in there the knob sits (with car off) twist the knob, spray some more and then turn the car back on, and your radio volume should now work

Same prob here. Just happened today for the first time. Black screen, no radio, no navigation, no nothing. The service dept also suggested I video it, which I did. 10:30 appt tomorrow. After reading your comments, I'm not gonna hold my breath. i have a 2020 Sentra, lease. Only 2800 miles on it. They best be fixing it or give me a new car!!!

WOW! i am so happy to read these and to know im not alone, because i seriously thought i was going insane due to the fact, it happens so quickly. by the time your trying to figure out if the radio just came on then quickly turned off, when the car is off, your really questioning what it really was you just heard. Yes, i do sound insane, lol, but the radio screen does not come on, it's just an instant through the speakers. I have also experienced issues with the car locks and the key fob. i had left my keys in my friends kitchen, and did not know where they were and as i searched in my bag for them my husband ran into the friends house to search, the key fob was no where near me, and i was able to unlock the trunk which unlocked the doors and then i got in thinking perhaps the fob was somewhere in the car, since all of a sudden i could unlock the car, which 2 seconds before i could not. i started the car and as i said fob was ALL the way up the hill in the house, very far away, so how could all this have happened?! i bought the car brand new in 2019 and have only been having issues in the past few months, at times the car feels possessed lol. are there any solutions?

I have a slightly different problem. My volume knob doesn't work properly. When I twist it clockwise to increase the volume, it often DECREASES the volume. It will jump back several volume numbers. This keeps happening. I've taken it in to the dealer three times. One time they changed out the radio and the other two times they downloaded new software. Each time the problem seemed to be fixed, only to recur again.

Save your money. I am on my 4th Bosch radio and the problem still persists. In Canadian, they billed the ext. warranty 6800.00 Screen randomly goes black, backup camera and radio stop working for up to 10 minutes then come back on. Seems to be related to colder but not extreme cold temperatures. Last service visit and 60 hours later the problem persists. My wife said it was fine all summer however has had nothing but problems all winter.
