Fuel gauge problem

My vehicle is full of fuel, but is reading 1/2 - 3/4 full. Is there a reset option within the cluster, or am I looking at the sending unit as problematic area?

Mine did that several times. There is a sofware update to correct it or the dealer can reset it.
