Why would a dealership offer significant deals on new vehicles - almost half off?

I am looking at nationwide prices and found a vehicle that I can normally get for
around $19,000 locally, for about $12000 in another state?

Hence my question. Of course there is an asterisk next to quoted price which had me wondering. Thanks for confirming my doubts. When something seems too good to be true, it probably is. I replied to them to inquire specifically. Interested to see their reply.
