murano with 193,000 miles

It's a big gamble and I personally wouldn't touch anything with that many miles.

I agree with idea of Nissan Murano long time if you take care of it & get repairs/replacement's on it right away. That means you might have to spend $500-1000 on it to replace parts, labor and normal wear and tear repairs here and there, say few times per year. Problem is that I think people are told by mechanics they need repair work this or that, then don't do it, especially if already paying high car payment! I write this because I love my Murano, it has 106,000 miles on it right now and just opted to put in the Nissan shop (most costly place) to fix a transmission issue on it total cost was estimated to be $2,800 for repair in 2 days. I was confronted with idea of selling it, trading it in for a newer car, or just driving it and not fixing it. A few people tried to convince me to trade it in. I don't want 5 year long new extension of a car payment. My car is almost paid off and i want to enjoy that for a few years so yes I am fixing up my transmission issue right now as I have a rental. I have faith if I get repairs when needed (not 6-12 months later) my Murano will last me another at least 150,000 miles or so! But I can't predict this, I'm not psychic, but I can only get repairs/replacements as happen and hope all my $ I'm paying for this car will pay off by it last me another good 5-6 years! Hope this helped someone with deciding whether to keep Murano with high miles or not!

The worst problem with this car is the cvt transmission..not reliable at all. They brake down very easily and very expensive to fix..the repair might cost more than what the car is worth..My advice is stay away from cvt transmission's.

I have 07 Nissan murano has 161k miles , didnot had major problem till now i had spent around a thousand dollar last year to fix car lock and heater issue other then that oil change my self conventional oil every 3500 miles my self at home and right now trying to find place to fix timing chain and tensoner approximate cost about two thousand dollar like i said i love my car i just don't want to buy another car if i would trade this luckily i will get three thousand . just don't want buy another one put 5 year payment again. hope it will last me another 100k miles.

I have a 2005 Murano Nissan. It has just hit 200K and she still runs like a charm. Great car!

Me too Karina! My 2005 has 173,000. Still drives great but I've not driven much since 2012 when I retired. Just repaired my air conditioner. $700.00 for seals, gaskets, compressor, o rings & freon. My passenger side door locks are acting up and my intelligent key also. It doesn't unlock my doors by pushing the remote. Also when pressing the unlock/lock button on the driver side handle or start the car without putting the key in the ignition anymore. Hate to ask how much it's going to cost to fix that. Luckily I have a backup up manual key to unlock & start the car. It was a big adjustment but I'm used to it now. I'm keeping it until the cost to fix it cost more than the car is worth. Has done me good. Love it still.

Hi Dolores, Have you tried purchasing a remote key on Amazon? I had to replace for my remote keys, the battery in the key was dead. I want to say it was less than $30. It was very easy to program take me five minutes. It certainly is worth a try. I also had my air conditioner worked on my car. It did the trick and I think it’s colder than ever now. My car is over 200,000 miles, still runs like a charm.

I have a 2005 but I heard that the all-wheel drive model fails and is very expensive to repair, the cvt transmission gives problems (if the required maintenance is not done) door locks problems and the thermostat is the enemy # 1 in these suvs, the mine has a modification in the thermostat because if I wasn't going to lose it

Well, it keeps going, owes me nothing and despite owning a Lexus 400h previously, I must say I have had great value out of the car. Repairs have been minimal. I keep looking at other SUVs thinking my Murano will die one day but...4 years later and starts and runs fine....

I have a 2006 Murano 175k miles I got as a handydown from my sister in June now I can’t lie i put alottt of work into my car but she got it at 90k and did no maintenance except for fluids for 3 years then I got it with 148k miles on it I had to do the suspension ac hose and breaks and rotors but I’ve put almost 30k miles on it and the only problem I’m left with is the catalytic converters need to be replaced due to an oil leak it had it clogged them. Love my car gets me everywhere has always started and it’s fast too highly recommend this car if you want a low maintenance luxurious suv

I have a 2007 with 150,000 being driven by my 17 yr old...He likes the car, but I have to say, we've put a significant amount of money in it in the last two years: Catalytic converter, drive belt, tie rods, wheel bearing, alternator, multiple sensors, radiator (did ourselves) Feels like it's been endless... Nervous that maybe I should dump it before the tranny craps out...Problem is, everything out there for $10k or less is pretty much the same deal - 150k plus miles Thoughts?

I have a 2013 murano with 350k on it. Still running smoothly. It's such a reliable car.
