See if fans are running when it gets hot , top off coolant when it cools down , If it gets hot right away do a compression test , if gauge is temperamental replace thermostat with an OEM one . Is there white goop under the oil fill cap ? Is the exhaust white ? Has there been a lose of performance and mileage ?

Have a chemical block test done if all fails to rule out blown head gasket. 5 minute test low cost at any shop
