Does my car need timing adjusted

I have been told that my 04 altima has jumped
time. And the timinng is off a little thats why it has
no power n it takes foreveer to build up
speed..could they b right

Yes. Also if the engine is running hot and possibly the transmission is shifting late are additional systems of a worn timing chain. This is not an adjustment. The timing chain will need to be replaced. One other possibility is a knock sensor problem. If you have a valve tap or other engine noise the knock sensor may be hearing it and sending a signal to the computer to severely retard the ignition timing. This will give the same systems as a worn timing chain! Hope that helps! Jim
