Transmission control module or transmission

Asked by Jason Feb 19, 2023 at 10:43 AM about the 2007 Subaru Outback 3.0R L.L.Bean Edition Sedan AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My alternator went bad and after driving the
vehicle home to work on it I have a p0700 and
p07035 code stating the 5th gear ratio is off.
Could this be the tcm or do I need to replace my
transmission?

With Subaru it could be lots of things. I recommend a good transmission shop first, they can run stand alone testing to determine if it is the actual transmission or if it’s a sensor or control unit.
