Check engine light comes on and reads, "high air intake."

Multiple attem to fix the problem. My mechanic found a leak that he said he would of bet
his paycheck on, but still. Same problem.  Please note th car was rear ended months
back which damage the exhaust. It did not pass it emission test.  Could it be the catalytic
converter? A O2 sensor? Thanks.
