transfer case

Asked by GLC Dec 08, 2008 at 10:02 PM about the 2004 Nissan Murano SE AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Re 2004 Murano regularly maintained.  Recently informed I need transfer case repairs that will be $3,800 +.  I was blind-sided with this since regular service is performed.  Any suggestions?

Umm... doesn't Nissan have a 5yr powertrain warranty? Your car should have come with a warranty booklet.

Good idea. I had an extended warranty but have exceeded that. I asked the service person about hidden recalls but did not think to ask about that. That's tomorrow's task. Thank you very much and have a good nite.

I looked at owner's manual as did my son and it 60,000 miles or 60 months. Thank you for trying,

High probability is that vehicle wasn't' done right from day one straight from factory. No fault on your own.Go to different auto wreckers and find good used one. Auto wreckers will honor their warranty better than dealer Good luck and above all Cheers.
