Nissan Sentra 2004 1.8 Liter Hard to start.

Asked by Wrightaway Jun 18, 2018 at 05:35 AM about the 2004 Nissan Sentra 1.8

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2004 Sentra 1.8 liter is hard to start.
When I turned the key it would sputter and
it would actually backfire but would start.
After warmed up you could turn the key
and it started right up. If it sat overnight the
same sequence. Two weeks ago it sat for 4
days before I even tried to start and it
started right up, no backfire or anything.
Now it will crank but not turnover at all.
Any suggestions on what the problem
might be?

lots of things could cause this- and the car is getting on in years now- I would try harder to come up with an answer, but my crystal ball is being uncooperative today- maybe try a mechanic? since we are all guessin' here, I will guess ignition module?
