Nissan sentra 2004 stops abruptly

Hi all,
Many thanks in advance for your input. I had this problem for about a week now with no solution. The car stops abruptly whiles driving, and then all the light signs will turn on at the same time. The steer will become immovable and the breaking stiff. Sometimes I have to try a few times before it starts right back or wait for a while. I have had the converters changed, changed a few sensors yet the problem persists. I have basically done everything that the diagnosis machine indicated yet the car still stops abruptly with the same symptoms. This is really frustrating me. Any ideas what the problem could be?

From your description it seems the engine is shutting off while you are driving. (That causes the stiff steering and loss of brake boost, as both require a running engine.) Unfortunately there are numerous reasons that could cause an engine to stop like that and not enough information in your post to say what that reason might be - from loss of fuel pressure, loss of electrical power, bad timing, etc. Because losing engine power while driving can be a major safety issue I suggest you get to a mechanics and have it diagnosed.

We have the same problem as pof600. Any solution out there? It runs a shorter time after being started again when warm - take 10-15 mins to fail the first time, the 5-10 mins cooling, then less than 5 mins to stall the second time..... Did the fuel pump relay, going after the camshaft and crankshaft sensors next, and then the fuel pump unless someone has a better idea or pof600 solved their problem ?
