Just bought a 03 Altima at 100000 miles and it just overheated and started skipping when I accelerated. Any ideas on what it might be and how much it might run me

I would start with a full cooling system service - hoses, flush, thermostat, new coolant etc. Do check the coolant for oil and the engine oil for coolant and make sure the cooling fans are working.
