Question type: Car Customization

I have heard mixed reviews about putting cold air intakes on supercharged
vehicles, however I think I might have found a way around it but I need more
information!  To my knowledge you should use plastic piping instead of metal as
not to retain as much heat which would defeat the purpose of having a cold air
intake. keep the air filter as far from the engine as possible to suck in more
COLD air. using plastic piping and afilter as far away asaway from the engine
as possible on a supercharged vehicle, and having as little bends in the tubing
as possible to produce better airflow, wouldn't that make a cold air filter usable?
(the picture provided is the same, but not my truck)

If cold air intakes were so great Nissan would have used them. If you look, most cars already take air from the outside air rather than under the hood.
