Halogen vs HID?

Asked by strongbadia5000 Dec 05, 2014 at 09:04 AM about the 2003 Nissan Maxima SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had the low beam headlight for my 2003 Nissan Maxima SE replaced recently. The
original headlight gave off kind of a blueish/whitish light and the replacement that the
repair shop put in gives off a yellowish light. The bulb the charged me for was pretty
expensive so I assumed it was the same type as the one that was originally installed.
If the light is yellow instead of blueish does this mean they gave me a halogen light/an
HID light will always look more blueish/whitish? Thanks!

I've seen white HIDs. Uncommon(around me atleast) but they're out there. If it doesn't throw as much light as the other one(the bluish bulb), its definitely a halogen they put in.
