AC Not Blowing Air

30

Asked by GuruY649B Mar 28, 2018 at 12:15 PM about the 2003 Nissan Sentra GXE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My AC does not blow any air to the passenger or
driver side seat areas, it only blows air in the
windshield Area. I can heAR the fan is working on
1...4. But no air to the seat areas. I checked my
cabin filter, dirty , took it out and turned on fan
again but not blowing any air yet. I'm going to get
the new filter soon, but would this be the only issue
replacing filter?

The sensor that controls the a/c and heater vents may be stuck or not working.

Before you go to the trouble, do you hear a ticking noise coming from under the dash? This always a signal that the part is not working correctly. If it needs to be replaced, the Blend Door Actuator should be under the right side of the dash panel. You have to remove the under dash plastic cover under the passenger side to get to it. The panel is held by bolts that are obscure some times, so you have to look for them.

I will check, is the noise when the fan is on? What if there is no noise? So if there is noise I open and unscrew the area by the glove box and what does the actuator look like ? THanks for your Help :)

It is a small plastic box, usually rectangular, wires are attached to it. Be careful when removing the wires and note their location. It cost about $30.00 at any auto parts.
