Asked by Rafael Apr 08, 2020 at 08:01 PM about the 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just purchased a 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5 and the
speedometer is reading about 5 to 8 mph faster
than I'm actually traveling. I've replaced the speed
sensor but that didn't make a difference.  I'm
hoping to get some help please

Have you confirmed that the speedometer is really off using a GPS speedometer on your smart phone?

That's actually how I figured it was not correct. I was wondering why everyone else was passing me. I've had my girlfriend following me and my speed was reading 70 when her speed was 65

On an old car like yours I would allow for the difference and drive accordingly.
