is the antifreeze coolant fluid full to the cold mark? are the coolant fans coming on ? crank the car and squeeze the radiator hose. when cold it should be soft and able to squeeze it without resistance or feeling warmth. Keep an eye on the gauge as the car warms up to operation temperature the thermostat will open and the hose will get stiff and feel warm as fluid is now circulating. Note the temperature gauge at this point and the fan should turn on shortly after prior to getting even hotter. Make sure the fan comes on.
