Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It will be working fine and then it will not shift from 1st gear. If I turn off the car
and begin again, it will shift fine.

Hey Bob, thanks. I just had the battery replaced and it also seems like it had occasionally started idling higher than normal. Initially I was thinking that the transmission was going bad but it would seem that it is something electronic that may be affecting both the idling and the transmission not shifting. It is especially strange that it is so intermittent as it only does it on occasion and if I turn off the car and restart it, everything is fine. Thanks for your help, any other suggestions? Thanks Jim
