have a 2001 nissan sentra gxe drives good runs good but yesterday cut it off and would not start had lights radio everything would not jump start waited about an hour and then it started

tried to jump it off and nothing it made no noise just as if it was dead then about an hour later it started and i drove it home would a starter  do this i have experienced anything like this has not gave me any warning just did this yesterday

...if you turn the key to the 'on' position before engaging the starter, do you hear the fuel pump running and pressurizing the fuel rail?...what I'm wondering is this a fuel pump power problem of an ignition problem...did you check for spark when the car was not starting?
