I was wondering if the tires on a 1997 Taurus and a 2005 Taurus interchangeable

As long as the bolt pattern on the two sets of wheels are the same they should be interchangable.

2005 wheels will fit on the '97, but non-SHO '97 wheels will not fit on the '05. '96-'99 SHO and all 2001+ need 16" wheels to clear the front brakes.

depends on the size of the rims. most cases it shouldn't be a problem tho.
