"car does not turn on"......I assume this vehicle will not... Crank.... over. The warning messages you are observing seem to indicate this vehicle's computers are seeing a fault which is serious enough to not allow you to start and run this vehicle. Welcome to the world of Computer Controlled cars. A phone call to your Toyota Dealership will provide you with directions on what you need to do next. From where I sit....a Scan Tool needs to be connected to the many Computers on this vehicle for a scan for trouble codes and diagnosis. Hopefully....you have some form of extended warranty coverage for this vehicle. Good Luck.
I left the dealership after a 230,000 mile tune up, within a mile the Check VSC and Hybrid lights came on during which the vehicle slowed like it was running on an engine that was out of gas. The dealership told me they do not have a towing service and would give me a loaner once I had the RX400h dragged back to their service area. After 24 hours I got a text message that Lexus mechanics do not have a good handle on the problem yet.
Check your most recent repair bill from this dealership. Lets see what parts and service was performed.

Ok...realizing I am not there looking under the hood and checking computers with a Scan Tool...it looks like they changed the engine oil and engine filter...and...rotated the tires. Why they drained the gas tank ang refilled with the same gas they took out...????....unknown. what they should be doing now is a full computer scan with their factofy scan tool...recording code numbers and descriptions.
ALSO....you indicate this vehicle has over 200,000 miles. Consider this. Toyotas hybrid batters are good for and warrentied for 100,000 miles...or...10 years. Let us know the Dealers ultimate diagnosis.
Hi! I have the same problem. Have you solved it?
Yes I was told that the fuel injection rails were clogged. Those were cleared and it is back to running great
Wow...interesting. So when the dealership drained the gas tank they must have correctly suspected a gas tank with bad gas in it......which would ultimately plug fuel lines and injectors. One needs to think......how did bad gas get into the gas tank?
Just had the same issue. Lexus 2008 RH400. coming back home after a late night out, the message pops up " Check VSC system check hybrid system" drove for a couple of minutes, was annoyed and decided to check online whatever this message was..pulled over, stopped the engine and google.decided why here can do it at home later...the engine wouldnt start .was stuck in the middle of nowhere in the dead of night...swore at myself...I am a computers guy so I said if its the error messgage thats not allowing me to start...then reboot! disconnected the battery, reconnected, engine is alive..At least I could drive home...will go to the dealer's tommorrow...at least I was able to save a couple hundred for towing and all the inconvenience!!... Hi Tony, hope you have great day! I had 2006 toyota highlander hybrid..In the middle road car shut down dont run no more..can I ask whats happened?
The answer to your question is in the vehicle computers. You need a very expensive Scan Tool to read codes stored in various computers on this vehicle. Try this. Disconnect the NEGATIVE battery terminal on the 12 volt battery for 10 minutes Reconnect and see if she will start up and run. Look in the Owner's. Manual for the location of this 12 Volt Battery. Get back with results.
GZ7.....anything good news concerning the issue with your vehicle?
Hi, so I have an 08 toyota camry. I recently got my chybitd computer chabged and a couple of bad cells... Well since then I have had the red tringle saying (check hybird system) I was told that was due to the temperature sensor missing on my 12 volt battery. Well two times since then I have had the check engine light flashed and VSC light flash for a couple seconds and then go away... Any one know why?
missing sensor? how did that happen? That is the probable cause of this issue.

I had same problem, with cause as reported by Toyotarepair "2 years ago." Car wouldn't start. Either dash lights came on, but DRIVE would not light, or dash lights were kind of fading in & out. When I jump-started the Camry, the dash said "check VSC system." 2008 doesn't even have a traction/stability control feature. Playing a hunch, and having "dissatisfying" experiences with the relevance of Camry's console messages, I tested the 12V battery in the trunk. It was bad. I can't complain, it's only 12-13 years old. Until I get it replaced, I've figured out a "magic chicken dance" that gets started when the 12V hasn't faded too much. As long as the dash lights come on strongly enough it seems to work. Yes, this is kinda "cargo cult"-ish. YMMV, etc. 1. start the car. It doesn't "start all the way." Means: the green LED on the start button is on, but DRIVE on the panel is not lit. I can't drive the car, but I can take the "stick" out of park. 2. put the stick into R or D for a very few minutes (2-3 seem to work.) I believe P & N won't work, as the charging systems don't work in this mode. This seems to charge the 12V battery. 3. Put the stick back in P, turn the car off, and turn the car back on. DRIVE on the panel is now lit, and I can drive.
