Shreeking high decible alarm

Occassionally, (sometimes when turning) a a VERY high decible screeching

sound (an alarm?) goes off and lasts for maybe 5-10 seconds. What on earth

would this be?????

My guess would be that your power steering belt is either loose or worn, a slipping belt will scream like a banshee
