humming sound as if something is on after the car is off

i have a 2000 nissan maxima se 3.0l. theres a humming sound
coming from the front of the car when the car is shut off. sounds
like something is on, but nothing is moving. both fans arew of.
after the engine is cooled off and the sound is still going ill feel
around to see if i could feel where its coming from and no luck

If you have been running the A/C, that hissing sound is refrigerant boiling and gurgling. That is normal and most people aren't observant enough to even notice. This sound will occur in the evaporator and the condenser just after the engine is turned off and lasts only a minute or two.
