2000 nissan pathfinder

I have a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder. When the
gear shifter is in between park and reverse
the vehicle will drive normal. When it is in
Neutral, Drive, or 123 it drives normal. Car
will not go into neutral or reverse in
anyway? What is wrong?

The car will go into gear and drive when the shifter is neutral, drive and 1 2 but will not go in reverse at all

well, with out putting my hands on the vehicle it could be a few things. could be a shifter cable issue because of were you describe shifter position, could be a internal problem with transmission because you state it will not go in reverse. check fluid condition and level,also check cable and connection points look for anything bent.thats were i would start.
