Im unclear why my car smells hot no leaking on the ground but reservoir low so is radaitor

You might have a blockage in the radiator that overpressurized the upper rad hose and blew it off. A pic of the damaged area might help. Obviously you have a severe problem with the cooling system, and driving it without fixing it is bad, you are pushing your luck with blowing the motor. In fact a blown head gasket can also cause symptoms like yours, so it may already be too late. You'll need to get it checked out. Block tester can at least let you know if hydrocarbons from the combustion process are getting into the coolant.
