Asked by Zach Jul 07, 2008 at 01:11 AM about the 1997 Ford Thunderbird LX RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When servicing the air filter willl just unclipping the airbox and placing a new (Fram) filter in be the right way to service the car or should you dissconnect the air tube and mass air sensors leaving just the box and instal it that way? And if it was serviced the first way would it cause a check engine light to go off? I ask because i have seen it done both ways ind im not sure what i should have done?

doesn't matter. I have done it both ways, never made a difference.
