Honda Civic hybrid transmission issues

Asked by GuruVBK23 Aug 18, 2018 at 11:23 AM about the 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My “D” light started flashing while I was driving yesterday
in my 2004 Honda Civic hybrid, shortly after this light
being on my car started jerking forward/backwards
repeatedly accompanied with a loss in power, I took my
foot off the gas and let the car cost and was able to regain
power and the jerking motion stopped. This issue seemed
to happen if I was going up a hill or trying to accelerate.
My car has a CVT transmission and I believe that this
issue is related, does anyone have any ideas what could
be causing this?

It probably needs a PCM update. My 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid had a similar problem and updating it might be the answer to that. Take the car to the dealer or a certified Honda/Acura mechanic to update it
