2020 jeep JL wrangler unlimited sport door curiosity lights

Asked by Rjpitt1 Sep 20, 2021 at 03:27 PM about the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

I'm trying to wire in a curiosity light on the driver side door of a 2020 jeep JL
wrangler unlimited sport.  I have the light mounted but not wired.  The light
has a red positive wire and a black negative wire.  From the door latch there
are 5 wires coming from the plug.  One of these wires must control the foot
well curiosity lights and the dome light when the door is opened up.

The five wires are Violet, Violet with a White line, White with a Green line
White with a Brown line and Green with a Blue line.

Look around on the door jam for a switch that energizes the courtesy lights. Not sure what you are calling a "curiosity light" but one side of the switch I described should be hot. Splice into that wire ith the red lead BEFORE it goes to the switch and connect the other side to ground (black). When do you want the light you are putting i to power up? If you want it to be on when a door is opened, you are done. If you want something else, then you will need to find a powered lead from the circuit you want and splice into that instead of the door light switch.
