i have to turn my key as far back as humanly possible to start my car... whats wrong with it???

i have a 98 nissan maxima. in order to start my car i have to turn the key further back than
normal and hold it there a second. then its starts without a problem... any idea why or
what i have to fix???

Thats what i figured... but i was also thinking it might be the ignition lock cylinder... figured i would try to replace the ignition switch first since its cheaper and easier lol... k thanks so much!!!

You may want to replace the lock cylinder too. the only bummer to this is that you will have to have a door key and and ignition key. in the old days, (my era) thats what we had anyway. but the newer cars have just one for both. good luck
